Crossword in Chennai

At last, Crossword is here in Chennai. Considering the market for books has always been on the higher side in Chennai, I’ve been wondering why a bookstore like Crossword took such a long time to land up here. Well, better late than never, they have opened up their second shop fairly three weeks ago at T-Nagar, Chennai (their first one was above Shopper’s Stop in Harrington’s, Chetpet) along with the UK chain Mothercare and Brio, the coffee shop. The bookstore itself is located on the first floor while Mothercare is on level one. Although the store isn’t as big as the one I’ve been to in Bangalore, it sure is exciting to be inside one after a boring Sunday at home. Thankfully, no stuff toys, very little CD/DVDs, which creates ample book-space for book lovers.

I also found The Oxford Bookstore at Haddows road although I really am not sure how long it’s been since they opened.

Crossword is on Kuppu Archade on Venkatnarayana Road in T-Nagar.

Chennai now has our very own Landmark, Odyssey, Fountainhead, Crossword, AND the Oxford Bookstore. Now, DO I have places to go to on weekends?
